Born in Pontian, Johor, Malaysia.

He holds an Associate's degree in engineering from Suzuka National College of Technology, a Bachelor's degree in engineering, a Master of Engineering degree and a Doctor of Philosophy in Engineering degree all from the University of Tsukuba.

He is currently a research scientist at the Humanoid Research Group and the CNRS-AIST JRL(Joint Robotics Laboratory), Intelligent Systems Research Insitute of the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology.

His research interests include constructing on-line motion generation, task teaching and human-machine interaction systems for humanoid robots serving in human environments.
